Purpose

Walton County School District has a need to augment traditional communication methods with the use of social media channels. This need primarily stems from public demand and the rapid growth of social media used by other local, state and federal governmental entities as an indication that social media can be used effectively to enhance constituent communications. The use of social media presents opportunities to individual schools and departments, as well as the District as a whole. In general, the District supports the use of social media technology to enhance communication, collaboration and information exchange to meet the mission and goals of the School District.

WCSD Employee Social Media Account Requests

The process for requesting a social media account through the Walton County School District is as follows:

  • Request permission from your site administrator at which time the administrator will request access for you to the Social Media Course

  • District level personnel will assign you to the Social Media Course in Edivate at which time you will receive a confirmation email

  • Once the course and all appropriate paperwork is complete and turned in to the district an email will be sent to the applicant, the requesting administrator and the WCSD technology department stating that the applicant has met all the requirements of the approved social media platform(s)

  • Once the social media account is set up appropriately it is then archived with ArchiveSocial in order to be compliant with public records laws
