Background & Criteria:
In 2020, the St. Joe Community Foundation Board of Trustees established a major annual scholarship opportunity for high school students residing and attending school in Bay County and Walton County, which commenced with the Class of 2022 award. Education is one of the Foundationโ€™s pillars, and the Foundation Board would like to recognize the communityโ€™s "extraordinaryโ€ students that exhibit leadership with a strong sense of community and service. The Foundation awards multiple levels of scholarships for high school students concluding with a single-named winner of the major โ€œNo Ordinary JOEโ€ scholarship for each county.

All nominees will be provided with a $500 scholarship if they make application agreeing to continue through the No Ordinary JOE scholarship process. Applications will be reviewed by a committee to select one No Ordinary JOE per school and receipt of another $2,500 scholarship. All school-level No Ordinary JOEโ€™s will then be interviewed by a committee to select each countyโ€™s No Ordinary JOE, which will then win another $10,000 scholarship.

All scholarships are funded through Bay Education Foundation and Walton Education Foundation directly to the studentโ€™s college of choice. For more information, visit https://joefoundation.com/no-ordinary-joe/

Our strong bond shall ne'er be broken,
Formed at Walton High,
Far surpassing wealth unspoken,

Sealed by friendship's tie.

Deep graven on each heart,
Shall be found unwavering true,
When we in life shall part.
