International Day of Peace was recently celebrated at Van R. Butler Elementary School. Students created handmade pinwheels in art class under the guidance of Art Teacher Constance Rogers, then planted them around campus to symbolize “Whirled Peace”. This is an annual event at the school that affords students a chance to discuss what peace means and how they can help contribute to a peaceful society. Submitted by Tammy Smith.

Walton High School's Marching Braves traveled to Rehobeth High School on Saturday, September 30, to perform in the Rehobeth High School Marching Classic.  The band performed their show for a panel of judges who were critiquing areas of Music, Marching, Percussion, Guard, and Drum Major.  The band received Superior Ratings in all categories - the highest rating possible!  Great job to the Marching Braves!

On Saturday, October 7, the band will compete at Andalusia High School in class 1A against 11 other bands.  Good luck, Braves!
