Month of the Military Child at FMS

Tomorrow, we proudly kick off the Month of the Military Child here at Freeport Middle School! With a large population of military-connected students, this month holds special meaning for our Bulldog family.

Throughout April, we will be highlighting and celebrating our military families who sacrifice so much in service to our country. 💙🧡

Our Leadership students are also leading the way with Operation Bulldog Support, collecting personal care items to send to deployed military members. We appreciate your support in helping us give back!

📅 April 15th – Purple Up! Day
We invite everyone to wear purple as a symbol of support for our military children and families.

🎉 End-of-Month Reception
We will close out the month with a special reception to honor and celebrate all of our military families and show our appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

This is going to be an incredible month as we come together to recognize the strength, resilience, and impact of our military-connected students and families.

Our AVID students recently had the opportunity to visit Emerald Coast Technical College (ECTC) to explore the many programs and career pathways they have to offer! 🎓

This experience gave our students a firsthand look at the skills, training, and opportunities available right here in our community as they begin thinking about their future goals.

💙🧡 Teamwork in Action in AVID! 🧡💙

Mrs. Robinson’s AVID students recently took on a fun (and challenging!) team-building activity that put their communication and collaboration skills to the test.

Students worked together to navigate obstacles while each person held onto a bandana supporting a cup with a marble on top—no easy task! Their goal was to carefully move as a team and successfully drop the marble into a trashcan… without letting it fall.

If the marble dropped, they had to start all over—teaching perseverance, patience, and the importance of working together toward a common goal. 💪

This hands-on activity was a great reminder that success doesn’t happen alone—it takes focus, trust, and teamwork!

The FHS football parent meetings that were scheduled for this week (8/26 for 8th graders) have been postponed until a new Head Football coach has been named. Information will be released as soon as it's available.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Destiny Worship Center for their generous donation of food and nonperishable items for our Freeport Middle School food pantry.

These donations help us send food home with students who may need a little extra support, and your kindness truly makes a difference for our families. Community partnerships like this show what it means to take care of one another.

🏆💙🧡 5th Grade Student Citizenship Award Recognition at Freeport Middle School 🧡💙🏆 We are proud to recognize these two outstanding Freeport Middle School 5th grade students who were voted by their peers to receive the Citizenship Award during Mrs. Ellison’s Social-Emotional & Resiliency Training on the March 13th half-day. These students were recognized by their classmates for consistently demonstrating kindness, respect, responsibility, and positive leadership in the classroom. Being recognized by your peers for your character and the way you treat others makes this award even more meaningful. Moments like this highlight the importance of building strong relationships, positive school culture, and leadership among our Bulldogs. 👏 Congratulations on representing what it means to be a strong member of our classroom community! #FMSBulldogs

🌱🌿 Growing Innovation in the FMS Agriculture Program! 🌿🌱

A huge thank you to the Walton County Classroom Education Grant Program for supporting the Freeport Middle School Agriculture Program with vertical tower gardens! This grant is giving our students the opportunity to explore hydroponics, sustainable agriculture, and modern growing techniques through hands-on learning.

Our Bulldogs have been excited to experiment with hydroponic gardening and sustainable food production, gaining valuable real-world experience in STEM, agriculture, and environmental science.

We truly appreciate the Walton County Classroom Education Grant Program for investing in our students and helping our agriculture program continue to grow! 🌿💙🧡
