District Corrective Action Plan

Walton County School District failed to make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in reading and math with all subgroups of students and did not increase the graduation rate by two percent. Therefore, a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) was developed to address measures to assist the district in meeting the required goals. The District Corrective Action Plan addresses the need to build a collaborative learning community outside the regular work day to analyze student data, identify specific areas of concern, research effective strategies and instructional practices to address these areas of concern, and plan school and district level professional development activities to address the identified specific subgroups and content area needs. The collaborative work group will consist of reading, math, and instructional coaches and district and school resource teachers. Title I Corrective Action funds have been designated for the salaries of reading, math, instructional coaches and district and school resource teachers; stipends for teachers attending the research-based professional activities; and materials and supplies needed to support the collaborative learning community’s efforts to analyze student data, and for professional development activities.
