Butterfly Haven at Mossy Head School

Fourth grade students at Mossy Head School have created a butterfly garden on campus. Students worked in small groups for several days to prepare the area they would plant. After the flowerbed was cleaned and weeded, students planted several different species that attract butterflies. Butterfly houses have been donated and will also be placed in the garden. Students will monitor the garden area for butterflies and discuss the different species that they observe as part of their classroom extension.
