"My overall motto in the classroom consists of the idea that under favorable circumstances
established by me, the teacher, my students can and will rise to the occasion to
meet and even exceed my expectations for them. My classroom functions according
to the "respect" principle--I wholly respect my students, and they, in turn, respect
me. This mutual understanding creates a positive atmosphere ripe for engagement
and learning to occur. By valuing individual uniqueness, I encourage learners to
strive to achieve success and to accept nothing less than the best for themselves."
